What would it take to reach your pipeline target?

Work backward from your new-business target to the qualified opportunities and meetings it would require. Adjust the assumptions to match your own sales motion.

Your assumptions

This is a requirements model, not a forecast of what Outreach Engine will deliver. Every number comes from you.

Not sure of your rates?

Start from a scenario and replace it with your own numbers when you have them. These are illustrative planning points from the middle of commonly published ranges, which vary widely by source and definition. They are not measured benchmarks.

The closed-won value you want from new outbound. Not total company revenue.

Use the same value basis as the target. Do not mix annual and lifetime value.

Of the opportunities Sales accepts, the share that become wins. Use mature cohorts.

Of the meetings that take place, the share Sales accepts as opportunities.

Of the meetings booked, the share that actually take place.

A whole number from 1 to 24. This is the meeting-generation window, not a promised closing window.

How the model works

It starts from the closed-won value you want and works backward through your own conversion rates. Each step divides the step before it. Nothing is rounded until the end, so small differences do not compound.

  1. Wins = target ÷ average contract value
  2. Accepted opportunities = wins ÷ win rate
  3. Held meetings = opportunities ÷ acceptance rate
  4. Booked meetings = held meetings ÷ held rate
  5. Unweighted pipeline = target ÷ win rate
  6. Pipeline multiple = 1 ÷ win rate
  7. Monthly average = booked meetings ÷ months

A worked example

With a fictional $500,000 target, $25,000 per deal, a 25% win rate, a 50% acceptance rate, an 80% held rate and a 3 month window, the model implies:

  • 20 closed-won deals
  • 80 accepted opportunities
  • 160 held meetings
  • 200 booked meetings, about 66.7 per month
  • $2,000,000 of unweighted pipeline, a 4.0x multiple

These values are fictional and are not benchmarks.

What this tool is not

  • It is not a forecast of what Outreach Engine, or anyone, will deliver. It contains no prices, savings or promised results.
  • Unweighted pipeline is not revenue, profit or return on investment.
  • The months field is when meetings are generated. Sales-cycle lag and onboarding mean the closing happens later.
  • Use rates from mature, comparable cohorts of your own. Do not count pending opportunities as losses, and do not mix annual and lifetime value.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a forecast of what Outreach Engine will deliver?

No. It is a requirements model. It turns your own assumptions into the volumes they imply. It contains no Outreach Engine prices, savings or promised results.

Which conversion rates should I use?

Use rates from mature, comparable cohorts of your own, where the outcomes are known. Do not count pending opportunities as losses, and keep contract value and lifetime value separate.

Does the months field mean the deals will close in that time?

No. It is the period over which you plan to generate the meetings. Sales-cycle lag and ramp mean meetings created in that window may close later.

Are my numbers saved or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser. Values are not placed in the address, not stored and not sent to any server.
